Universal Buys "Let It Snow"

"The Fault in Our Stars" author John Green wrote one of the three intertwining Christmas tales

Universal has optioned the film rights to the short-story collection Let It Snow, written by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle.

Released in 2008, the book features three separate interconnected stories about teens during a huge Christmastime blizzard.

Green is the popular author behind this summer's hit film The Fault in Our Stars, and his other book, Paper Towns, is also being adapted into a film. Fault was a breakout hit, and recently passed $300 million at the worldwide box office. He's repped by Writers House.

Johnson wrote the YA series Shades of London and Suite Scarlett, and is repped by KT Literary.

Myracle wrote Thirteen Plus One and the popular IM trio. She's repped by BG Literary.

Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark will produce under the Universal-based Bluegrass Films banner. Universal’s senior vp production Kristin Lowe and creative executive Chloe Yellin will oversee the project for the studio. Alexa Faigen will oversee for Bluegrass Films.

UTA negotiated the film deal.
